We’ve Been Exclusively Retained: Chief Operating Officer Search for a Growing OBOT Platform in Kentucky
The organization. A multi-site, physician-owned OBOT practice that treats the whole patient under one roof, managing psychiatric comorbidities such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder alongside substance use disorder, and integrating Hepatitis C, HIV, and infectious disease care directly into the model. The practice is a credentialed 340B Drug Discount Program participant while maintaining its for-profit status, which gives it a differentiated economic and clinical profile relative to peer operators.
The strategic chapter. The ownership is planning a Management Services Organization (MSO) transition over the coming years, positioning the practice for a strategic transaction. The incoming Chief Operating Officer will have meaningful upside tied to that outcome, codified in the employment agreement at hire.
The role. The COO will be the senior operating executive responsible for day-to-day execution across both physical locations and the telehealth operation. The seat owns clinical operations throughput, workflow design, patient experience, revenue cycle performance, 340B program stewardship, compliance and licensure, workforce planning, and the operational economics of what comes next.
The right operator is probably a current number two or number three at a growing MAT, OBOT, SUD, or integrated behavioral health platform. Someone with real multi-site operating chops, a working command of OBOT regulatory and clinical complexity, and the appetite to own the operating seat outright. Prior exposure to 340B in a for-profit covered-entity structure and comfort operating alongside a physician-owner are meaningful pluses.
Why this matters beyond the role itself. OBOT operators who get the clinical model right, the payer mix right, and the regulatory posture right are increasingly the ones strategic acquirers are watching. The spine of a well-run multi-site OBOT practice is operational, not clinical. This search is a direct read on where that trend is heading.
